What's the Deal with Prayer?

"God is good. God is great. And all the kings horses and all the kings men, couldn't put Humpty together  again."
This really sweet memory came from my then two-and-a-half-year old when it was her turn to say grace.

We pray before dinner. We say we will pray for someone when they are ill. When we come to a big decision,  we say we will pray about it.

But really...

What is the point of prayer?
Why pray to a God who knows everything?
What does prayer do?
Is all prayer the same?
Are there different types of prayer?
When is the best time to pray?
Where can we pray?
Is there a special way to pray?
How can we effectively pray for our kids?
Why are there times when God is so quiet?

And seriously,
why is prayer so hard?

Prayer is a mysterious and powerful  thing. Over the next few weeks,  prayer will be the topic on this blog.

There is no greater investment we can make into our kids and young adults lives than prayer.

(Be) faithful in prayer.
